LA Bound...

Yo! So I been away relaxing for a couple months detoxing! Well the detox is officially complete...and the show as we know it must go on! Headed to LA today..out here for the next month. Meetin' new people, shakin' new hands, making myself known u know. It's a crazy race out here, even more than NYC. I've played here before, and just like NYC on any given day you know something's going on u don't see. Behind a rundown gate is a Universal studio. On the 17th floor of a colorless high rise Queen Latifah is doing some PizzaHut overdubs.  Eating at a small ridicilously expensive cafe on Rodeo Drive is Jack Nicholson and some "model friend" 30 years his junior laughin over a plate of shrimp.  LA... the shiny city.  

But here may be where I find that RIGHT person, that one-of-a-kind big break (although I'm not rose colored over here...big breaks take bloody years). That producer who can finish my musical sentences.  I'm starting to hear alot these days.. "Man, you got everything! EVERYTHING!  All you need is John Legend's Kanye. Alicia Keys' Krucial Keys. Robin Thicke's Pharrell. Fergie's Will.I.Am. Not just for great production (I actually like Legend's second album best...Kanye didn't have much to do with that), but for co-sign purposes!  Point blank, Darnell Levine needs a co-signer! (Need is a strong word..)

All this is easier said than done - meanwhile I'm not known for waiting on producers to create.  So while I'm waiting on a producer I'm busy writing the best songs I can on this piano.  Cuz if it don't sound good with me and 88 keys, then I ain't singin' it...(insert manly black woman head roll finger snap here)...
