New York City #040

Today marked the first snow of the New York City fall 2010 scene... I'm still staying in Brooklyn.  Been here longer than any other periods of time I've spent other places...Harlem (3 1/2 weeks), Queens (1 week), Brooklyn (2 months).  Yea, 2 months.  I've  been moving pretty consistently up until now, not staying in one place for too long.  For me, moving physically helped me to not get comfortable enough to stop thinking thoughts like "What's next".  I've always gotta keep thinking what's next...

Brooklyn has been good, still haven't seen it all -- Brooklyn is huge!  And honestly I'vebeen ready to move on to another space, but Bed-Stuy is a cool vibe indeed.  I've seen alot more than folks who actually live here turns out.  Comfortable.  They're comfortable.  Which is fine, I just want my comfort zone to be a mobile one, has been less to do with my surroundings as much as my intangibles.  Happiness, mental health, spirituality, finding the new.  These are my comfort zone now.  When I get back to Nashville & Louisville, I'm for sure headed to my favorite eat spots, hang with old friends & lay on my mama like has been the case for 28 years now.  But I've learned now that for what I want to do, the old me is gonna have to die.  Darnell Levine won't be just recording great records, touring the world, and sleeping & vacationing the rest of my life away.  That's no longer how I want to live.  I'm running after all that is brave, all that is bold, and all that I think is beyond me.

...so now faster than normal, is normal.

Now where's some egg nog...and some tums :-/

Xmas Gift wish list COMING SOON! (AKA the most important post of this blog period)...
