New York City #032 (The Show)
Afternoon. Eating a little lunch now, today's a chilly but not a freezing cold day, and sunny. As most of you who follow the blog know, tonight is pretty special. Playing my first show in the city since being to New York City. I've seen alot, and it's slowly seeped into all the right places in several new songs I'll play tonight. It's at a place called The Living Room (sounds comfortable enough) in the upstairs music room called Googie's Lounge. I first visited The Living Room about two years with a friend of mine and fellow singer/songwriter Ari Hest who said "Hey man, meet me at this one joint tonight." I got the address, turned out to The Living Room. And then made my way there on another NYC visit to see another good friend play, Micah Dalton. That's when I thought to myself, I'm gonna play here. Two years later, seems I might just have some prophecy powers. The intimacy of this venue I like alot. It puts the audience at ease, and when the audience is relaxed and open - magic occurs. Pure magic. It's time to make the stage my home again. MAGIC! 8:30pm...
