Wut up...good afternoon to all. Another monday and I slept well last night. Just so you know, I've been writing and demoing alot here lately, last year I think I only wrote 8 or 9 songs, and only finished 4 or 5 of them. Plan on doing better this year, and I'm off to a good start, got 2 songs completed already. And by happenstance I ran across the chords to Coldplay's "Clocks" (difficult, no. Effective, hecky yeah.) And if I didn't post it on here, can't recall, let me share with YOU my WMIP family the best media news of the year for me, finally making it into Performing Songwriter. It doesn't mean much to some, I'm in the "EPs from DIY Artists That Caught Our Ears" section, but coming from no real songwriting background that's one magazine I love to read and was excited to ever think about being in. Thanks Jessica from PS for the write up. OH, and yes you can get one at your local Borders, Barnes & Nobles, etc. Here's what she said:
Despite its bare-boned arrangements, Levine's serendipitous piano-pop pays homage to old-school tradition. Heartfelt and earnest, it showcases a singer-songwriter who's learned a lesson or two from Carole King, Laura Nyro, Brian Wilson and '70s soul. A very good vintage, this Levine.
