So last week I made the journey to Atlanta, GA to see my favorite trio currently among all, and a fellow artist who I had admired but neevr met, Marc Broussard. Now for some who only listen to "black" music (which simply means you only listen to black people sing on the "black" people stations aside from Robin Thicke and Justin Timberlake), then you propbably have no idea who these guys are. Good! Fine by me, I'd love to introduce you.
So I went to ATL (shawty) to catch a great pressure free show that I had NOTHING to do with. PERFECT! And since I'm in Atlanta who else is an ATL survivor...that's right, fellow WMIPer Chantae Laurina Cann. So I called her up, and we hit the streets of A-Town down headed to Centerstage. This is a sold out show (1,100 folks). We make the last note of a newcomer from Nashville Josh Hoge, then me and CC made our way to the front of the stage to catch Gabe Dixon, Jano , and Winston AKA Fuzz Muzz, or THE GABE DIXON BAND. They hit it hard for about 40 minutes, too short for me but Chantae concluded that she couldn't take anymore, she was about the bust wide open with musical bliss.
Now like I said, I don't know MARC BROUSSARD personally--or I didn't, but I do know 3 of his 4 band members, all of which are very cool and incredible players...so I felt like I had a shot at backstage later. Anyway, we decide our feet hurt so we cop a seat in the nosebleed (but still a great seat, it was kinda cool) and watched Marc sing his motha lovin nose hairs off for an hour, then do a 35 minute encore!
We later met Marc and the guys backstage later...DOUBLE SCORE!! Success is once again recorded.
Later,
